Unusual plate.

Time for me to say goodbye to this much loved family car which I've had for 29 years. It has a 2.8L V6 petrol engine and automatic gearbox. Despite its high mileage (229,000) it runs well. The problem is that it is will not pass another MOT without work on various parts such as blowing exhaust, handbrake, rubber bushes, suspension springs and engine oil leak from chain case. To restore its good looks the roof and bonnet would need a respray.
It comes with a tow bar, foldaway rear facing seats in boot (not sure if these are still legal) and a custom roof rack, the total length of the roof.
Because of these issues the car should be seen as a restoration project and not for immediate day to day running. I have been advised by a classic car auction house that it could fetch up to £1000 at auction. However, I would prefer to sell to an enthusiast so would be willing to accept any reasonable offer.

 

You guys have it tough in the UK with the overzealous MOT inspections. I had a friend that had his gorgeous MGB-GT failed for some slight
surface rust on ONE brake line!
