Thumbs up IE details for 850 TSW

I will, just waiting to see some interest. It has about 175k miles, but the speedometer doesn't work that well. Turbo is great, the body and chasis are in good shape. I'm asking $2500 obo.
Let me know if interested

Default How did it go?

I know this post was some time ago, but I am now in the same position. Looking to sell a 1996 850R SportWagon. It runs great, the interior is in excellent condition but it needs work that is only worth it to someone who enjoys doing their own work - air conditioning, key ignition replacement, front wheel bearing, etc. I am located in Northern California so the car has never been in the snow.

How did your sale go? Any suggestions?

Not too well, Volvo enthusiasts are snobs. It only sold for $750. I could have waited and held out for more but I had a trip planned so I sold it for nothing. I would suggest repairing what you can to make it a smooth ride and hold out for the right buyer

Did an enthusiast purchase it? $750 Sounds low for a car that is running. Heck, just about anyone would have paid $750 for a running car. How long did it take you to sell it?

Most enthusiast already have the car they want. If they are looking to purchase an "extra" car, they are likely NOT going to pay top dollar for one that "needs some work". What I usually do is look at the retail price, then back out the retail "needed repairs". That leaves me with my offer. So, if I look at a $4,000 car and it has $2,800 worth of repairs and upkeep, my offer will likely be $1,500, even if the seller is asking $5,000.
