New V70/S70 seat skins
#21
I'm interested. I am looking into getting a 98 S70 GLT and everything about the car is spectacular except for the drivers side front seat. Unfortunately, it is torn. How difficult is the procedure for replacing the bottom seat covers? How do the textures compare to the OEM leather ones? And, is it $180 for the set or just one seat cover?
Also, how does everybody feel about $6000 for a 98 S70 GLT with 94,000 miles on it. Everything in good condition except for the driver seat.

Replacement is pretty easy; you can do a search for a few write-ups. Just make sure you don't blow the side air bags!
For your pending purchase; it seems a little high if it's a stock GLT. Low miles sure, but it's still a 14 YO car. Some parts need to be replaced based on age, not mileage. Does it come with a stack of service receipts to show regularly scheduled maintenance? For that price it should, but I don't know if I'd pay more than 4 grand for it.

Thanks for the info. I too was thinking that it seems a little pricey. He replaced the seat, so I wouldn't have to do that if I got the car. I have a few others in mind now too. There is a 2004 S60R thats going up for auction on Tuesday which sounds interesting and a few other S70's I'm looking at. The only problem is, all of these cars are so spread out. I'm spending all day on Saturday driving around and looking at cars. Hopefully, I'll end up with a nice one.
