Selling Racechip controller for the V50 T5 engine I used for 2 years. Our car was a 2008 V50 and my guess is that this should work on a T5 engine in a S40 C30 and C70 as well. This spoofs the ECU to thinking there is less boost than there actually is in the intake. Doesn't mess with fuel map or emissions. Fully reversible.
Catch is it is not as easy to install as Racechip claims because the signal/harness you need to intercept with by inserting the Racechip harness cannot be accessed without removing the bumper covered on a V50 (and I assume on other models as well). That is about a 45 min job. Search for bumper cover removal videos online. It's not rocket science; straightforward, you just need to invest the time. Attaching the Racechip harness takes less than a minute once you gain access. See the connector I circled in red in pic.
I think this totally changed the character of the car and is worth it. Main difference in more low end torque; hence, more fun to drive in the city. I do not suggest using the highest boost setting; negatively affects drivability. You can change the settings at any time. I have not run into any issues whatsoever--emissions or otherwise. My car had 140k miles on it when I installed it. That said, install at your own risk; I am not guaranteeing anything.
