Installed a new stereo in my 240...
Blaupunkt Freiburg 200...... mostly for the classic styling ... sound is okay.
Going to be replacing the factory speakers with 5.25" in the doors...
Thinking I want to add two speakers to the rear deck, there arent any now... a pair of 6.5" or 6x9 ... and a smaller sub as well.
Not looking for massive bass, I just want a little more depth ..
So, I am completely ignorant of all of this, as I have never done more than replace stereos and factory speakers...
The unit I installed has one set of RCA outputs on the back..
In my head, The amp connects to those RCAs... then I need a two channel Amp to connect the sub and the other two speakers to?
Does that sound right?

What am I doing here?
You will find the reason 4" speaker are mounted in the front doors - is anything larger is too deep, hits the window glass and can't be mounted flush with the door panel. So - make sure what you buy will fit BEFORE you buy it..

Ive found someone who makes an adapter/bracket that allows mounting of a larger speaker.
I'd be curious if the adapter follows the contours of the door panel. The factory speaker mounting point is a flat area - above and below the door panel is raised. In the 1990s Volvo did put a slightly larger speaker in and the mounting plate contoured the door panel. Do you have a photo? Here's the Volvo style.
