CD player error code not loading 2006 XC 90
is the error on a store-bought CD or on a CD burned on you PC? Start with buying a top quality CD lens cleaner product then see what happens with store-bought CDs vs home burned. If you burn CDs at home, you may want to slow down the burn speed and use the high quality error correction mode. If that fails, its time to buy a Grom adaptor for your CD player port and connect to an MP3 player or phone to leave the 90s behind.
so I should go and dust off my 8 tracks? I am not a techie and I have had no problems with home burned CD's up until now. I will go and purchase a CD lens cleaner. I am limited as to where as I live in BFE Montana and good repair places are non existent.
If the lens cleaner doesn't work, see what happens with store bought CDs or reburn some new CDs using the slowest burn speed. As a last resort, go to eBay or Crutchfields and buy a Grom MP3 adaptor - it plugs into the head unit in place of the remote CD changer and allows you to play MP3s with head unit controls. To note, my VW CC has a memory chip slot for MP3s and there's no difference in listening quality vs CDs. Plus with a 32 Gb chip I get something like 22 days worth of music (figure each song is 3-4 meg). That's like 800 CDs worth of music :-)
