Talking 1982 - 244 Tire Size Question

Hi there,
Per the glove box of my '82 244DL (Canadian Spec), the tire size is supposed to be 185/75 R14, but all garages and web sites seem to indicate that it should be 185/70 R14. Does anyone know what it supposed to be? I would trust the glove box, but am curious why there are contradictions
Thanks!
Anthony

for some reason there is a size difference listed between the US and CA ... my guess is its the difference between the MPH and KPH speedos.

Car Model Tire
Sedan DL 175R14
Sedan GL 185/70R14
Sedan Turbo 195/60R15
Sedan DL, GL, GLE (Can) P185/75R14
Wagon DL, GL P185R14
Wagon Turbo 195/60R15
Wagon DL, GL (Can) P185/75R14

Thanks Bubba - Yes I think I will go with what the glove box (and you) say => Sedan DL, GL, GLE (Can) P185/75R14 . I am thinking of 195/70 R14's though for better handling in the summer, does that make sense? (about the same circumference as the 185/75R14)

Athilla, rather than guess what a tire size will do (I've had speeding tickets because of tires that were "about" the same) use one of the tire size applications available such as the following link. Will tell you exactly the speed differences. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
