Default 1984 240 DL Wagon Living the Life Aquatic?

Went down to my local Knecht's last week and picked up a new cap and rotor, only to find that the replacement rotor was not a true fit... Took it back to them and they looked up another one. 15 minutes and a half dozen guesses later, we find a matching rotor from, get this, a 1979-86 Volvo Penta engine, from a Boat!

Is this just an error on the part of their part catalog, or dud the factories get some parts mixed up when they were building my car?!?

Problem is that many after market parts now are just crappy, and or don't take into consideration the various suppliers Volvo used through the years. Many generic parts stores are not into the finer points: try explaining the difference between a Regina and Bosch to them! One just has to take the old part to them and compare side by side.
