1984 244DL fuel pump relay location??
It is usually on the passenger side under the dash by the firewall. It will be a white or brown relay with 6 wires. The really old cars had it on the drivers side.
It is indeed mounted on the firewall just above the passengers feet on the '84 they moved it there from the drivers side in '83. It should be white. If you pull back the carpet and get under there you should see it. It is pretty big as far as relays go (About 1" x 2" x 2"). It is just mounted to the firewall with a little metal clip so it takes about 1/2 a second to remove.
I replaced both of the relays with new ones from Carquest (white in color). The fuel pump still wont come on. If I jumper the first relay it comes right on. Any more ideas????? Please Help!!!!!
Back track to the fuse box. When you turn the key on it should come on for a few seconds then go off. If it does that and doesn't come back on when you crank it then look at the dist. pick up.
I can feelone of the relaysclick when I turn on the ignition but it dosentstart the pump.
I put in an old relay and jumpered across it and it fired right up.
Question - "then look at the dist. pick up" What is this?

The car should have a hall affect switch in the dist that sends a signal when you crank the car. That makes the fuel pump come back on.
But if the pump doesn't prime for a few seconds when you turn the key on you may have another problem.

Also do these have a fuel cut off switch for an accident situation? It seems to me the in the past when I jacked the car up forservice reason it has had trouble starting after.

what year/model ? on most of these cars (1985+), the fuel system relay is a fairly large rectangular white one, the good ones say K or KAE or Kaehler on them. Volvo part 3523608 or 1347603 (the latter is a older version, they are interchangable).

84 (LH 2.0) has a pair of relays, one for the fuel pump, the other for the fuel injection system, they are shown here,

as 216 & 217
this is a suitable relay for both of those,
