Default 1985 wiring problem

On my 85 wagon I understand the wires are known to lose the insulation. My central locking recently failed b/c the insulation is missing. Also, looked under the hood and noticed same around oil pressure sensor. I see IPD sells the oil/alternator wiring harness. What is a good source for power lock solenoids and other (?) wires that may be soon failing. Do I buy new, find a different year 240 and install its parts...?

thanks

I just rewired mine with auto parts store colored wire. Soldered and shrink wrapped. My insulation was completely gone in places. Attributed that to diesel fuel at the time but find that it was a common problem on gas cars also.
