1987 740 turbo sedan transmission problem

Default 1987 740 turbo sedan transmission problem

im getting a hard shift from 1st to 2 st gear. I replaced the transmission mount seal and rear bushing, and it still has a hard shift, any idea's?
im leaning toward valve body service but not quite sure. any help?

Try changing the fluid and filter.

Try changing the fluid and filter.
Yup, you may want to pop for an actual tranny flush. You can do this yourself or have it done professionally. A Drain & Fill only replaces a portion of the tranny fluid, but the flush gets it all.

Look farther down on that page for a reference to the kickdown cable. You want to make sure it is free to slide (they can sieze up) and it is adjusted properly (they can stretch). Though, if it's JUST the 1-2 shift the cable is probably OK.
