1989 Volvo 240DL dash switch wiring diagram
Hey guys I’m new to this forum. Actually this is the first forum I have ever joined. I’m here because I am now an owner of a 1989 Volvo 240 DL. I got the bright idea to tear apart the dash but only halfway. Reason for doing this What’s to trace down radio harness wires because something was backwards somewhere. Before taking the switch panel apart from the dash I failed to acknowledge what wires were connected where To be each Switch. Is there anyone who could help me out with a picture or a diagram of some sort so I can put my dash back together? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I hope to help you guys out with something one day as well if needed. Thanks in advance

'switch panel', you mean the center section with the couple switches and the HVAC controls ?
I've got 240 wiring diagrams, but they are copy protected and a bit of a pain to get into.
I have an older CD version of this,
https://store.otpubs.com/240-260-models-1974-to-1993/
its now a USB stick, costs $60 or something. detailed year by year wiring diagrams, a lot of technical documents on the engine, chassis, etc.

Thanks pierce for the correction. Although I don’t have $60 to spend at this very. Moment.

Heres a few links to various diagrams, hopefully they'll be useful:

Heres an image to a stock set of switches and buttons if you're looking to reorganize them correctly, Your car has what I guess are extra accessory jack points? And a few other things.

After dealing with a few terrible speaker/radio setups, on my list of "reasons to not buy x car" aftermarket wiring/audio will always be on that list.
those two switches on either side of the rear window defroster definitely do not look like anything Volvo.
the cigar lighter gets a black wire to ground, and a yellow-black wire directly from Fuse 1
the rear window defroster, gets black to pin 31 (bottom pin), yellow-red to pin above (or across from?) that, then a 2 pin L connector goes on the upper two pins, blue-yellow on the + pin, yellow on the other one.
the hazard warning switch has a heck-of-a-lotta pins, but there's a single plug that fits into all of them, with wires (1) white-green, (2) green, (3) yellow, (4) white, (5) blue, and (6) blue-red. also a black wire to ground.
the seat belt warning light gets a brown and yellow wire.
