1990 740 wagon won't start, no power to starter solenoid
Been reading a lot of post on here related to this problem, just wanted to post myself to see if i'm on the right path.
My car was starting fine, then it started to start intermittently and now won't start at all from keying the ignition (starter is not engaging). I can disconnect the starter solenoid and start the car by jumpering the power to the solenoid with a screwdriver and the car runs fine.
A lot of the post have said to check the neutral safety switch or the PNP (have no idea what that is). Are these the only two things that could be causing my car not to start?

I wonder if PNP refers to the Park-Neutral safety switch? eg, its the same thing.
thats really the only thing in the path. the ignition key 'starter' output goes to the park-neutral safety switch, and from there it goes to the starter. that switch is in the side of the transmission
