1992 740 Quit running
My "92 740 Wagon stalled out the other day.
I was driving up a hill and it suddenly lost power. I managed to coax it home, but couldn't get it over 10mph and it kept stalling out.
Now it starts with great difficulity and stalls almost immediately.
I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor(Were due), but it hasn't solved my problem.
I suspect it's a fuel injection problem.
Any advice or ideas?
Thanks

turn the car to on, listen for a whir noise coming from under the car. Then Go over to the gas filler, and loosen the cap and put your ear to the hole. See if you hear basically the same noise comiing out of the filler neck. If no to either one, check your fuses. If they're okay, then come back and tell us if the car is turbo or not.

Gremlins are hard to pin down. If the engine has died and stays dead, then it is easier to diagnose. Go to www.stepbystepvolvo.com for free guide to 740 no-starts.
