Default 1993 Volvo 240 front shocks

desperately need front shocks, and after doing a bit of research to find out which are the top 3 or so best brands to put in it, i found that the later volvos have trouble fitting the Bilstein shocks. After reading articles for over an hour and a half, no one mentions what shocks are recommended for later volvos with this problem.

Can anyone help?

Depending on the ride you are looking for you have several options. I believe that the original Volvo shocks were by Boge. If you like the original ride, I would suggest the same - I bought my replacements from Volvo.

If you are looking for something more sporty (stiffer) in the ride, you might try the Bilsteins.

I'm not sure where you were reading but the topic is discussed on the forum here multiple times as well as over on Brickboard and TurboBricks.

bilsteins come in a couple grades. the TC ("Touring") are a mild upgrade from stock, while the HD or Sport are significantly stiffer and probably best used on a rally car with sport springs.

where did you read that 'later volvos have trouble fitting bilsteins' ? virtually all 240s from 1978 forward should use the same front and rear shocks. now, the last year of the 960, and the S90/V90 re-label for the next 2 years, THOSE are difficult to fit, they only take a Monroe shock rebranded by Volvo.
