1994 940T Wagon, driving/handling impression...Opinions wanted
Hi, I am a new owner of a 1994 940 Turbo Wagon... This is my first Volvo. I have driven new cars for the past 12 years... Several Saab's and Subaru's, currently have a 2009 Legacy, I do have an old Saab 900 as well. My question is... even though this Volvo drives great, tracks straight, no shimmy or vibrations in the steering wheel, and the car has never been in an accident, and it has new tires (205 55 16)and brakes, it doesn't handle all that well. I don't feel quite as secure driving it (especially with wet roads) compared to my Subaru or even my Saab... Is this pretty normal? Granted I haven't had a rear wheel drive car in a long time and it is bigger than anything else I have driven. What do you guys think about how these cars handle/drive in general?
Thanks,
Steve

Gosh Steve, you ask this in a Volvo forum . what do you think we're going to say...they handle like crap? No offense but if you aren't used to driving rwd cars there is of course a degree of adjustment. Frankly, I feel the same way about fwd cars. Being pulled around a corner is unnerving to me. Nothing like a blow out in a curve when it's your drive wheel, turning wheel all in one. So the 16 year old station wagon doesn't quite stay even w/ the 1 year old Legacy. Amazing. Give me the wagon for 30 days and a grand and I'd have it running cicles around the
legacy...just sayin'

LOL, I meant no disrespect... I really do like the Volvo, just making sure what I am experiencing is 'normal' and learning curve related. I think it is an awesome machine and I am SHOCKED at the fact that everything works as it should with 160k miles and being 16 years old... Any advice on what to look out for, keep an eye on etc??
