So I thought I was pretty slick making a u turn and not needing to do a three point turn the other day while driving. I came pretty close to the curb and scrapped a little bit. Later I found out that the bulb right there ended up shattering during the maneuver. Needless to say I feel like an idiot. So here's the issue and some questions that I have.

1. What is the name of that light right there? It's on the bottom of the bumper and is on the very corner of the brush guard thing. Is it called the fog light? I saw on diagram that it was labeled as an optional fog light (number 5 in this picture)....


2. Anyone know where I can get one of these that doesn't cost 150 bucks? ( I've tried the forums but no luck yet. Any one able to find one on eBay for cheap for me? Again I've tried, but no luck yet.) maybe I'm searching for the part under the wrong name and that's the reason I can't find anything?

I did find this, which I think is one of the ones I need. ( anyone know which passenger? is it called the labeled as left or right? )

3. Is there some sort of generic light assembly I can put in place of those lights ( both the passenger and drivers side) that I could just replace it with? Maybe like an HID self contained unit or something that I could mount in there?

I'm just looking for some wisdom and knowledge to get me out of my idiotic move. Thanks for the help!

yes, thats the fog lamp, and those are unique to the post facelift 960 aka S90/V90. That picture is, of course, the earlier style 740/760/940 and they were optional on those, but also different.

a junkyard is probably your best bet if you want cheap, otherwise its new Volvo lamps at a dealer or FCP or whatever.

 

thanks for the response. so should i be looking to replace this with the 940 fog light option? im kind of confused as to what i should be buying? is there a concise answer for what i exactly need to buy?

 

no, the 940 (and 960 version 1) stuff won't fit. you need the 960 version 2 aka S90/V90 fog lights.
