240 autos in the mtns
will be moving to colo. in a few months and was wondering how the automatic 240's hold up to that kind of driving. i had an 89 240 afew years ago when i lived in texas and it always worked fine but central tx is pretty flat. right now i'm looking at an 89 240dl 131k and an 82 240 wagon 112k both autos. i know how dependable the 89's can be but what about an 82? aren't the engines smaller and i would assume the fuel injection set up is different(better or worse)?

RE: 240 autos in the mtns
I lived in Durango, Co with an 87 and it did fine except for the winter. Most all cars are required to have chains at least anywhere pass the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70. A 4x4 or AWD would be a good thing to have. The good thing up there is that you can find a lot of old beat up 4x4 pick ups and older SUV's for pretty cheap that time of year. Go to BOTH of these links, they will help you out and answer a lot of questions.
