240 DL Master Cylinder Question
I replaced the front calipers on my 1988 240 DL, refilled the brake reservoir and started bleeding the brakes. I didn't realize that the reservoir was only full on the front side and that the back side was empty. I had my wife pumping the brakes with no success in getting any kind of pressure and then realized the mistake and filled the reservoir completely. I still can't get any brake pressure even though the reservoir's full and I've bled all 4 wheels three times (there's no air in the system). Is the master cylinder shot? Did I damage it by pumping the brakes with air in the reservoir? I just want to make sure that I really need a master cylinder before I buy one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We have had a couple of 240's that had aftermarket pads on them. The brakes feel like yours.
We have bled and tried things for many hours. Still the same. Install a set of OEM pads and brakes are back to Normal.
