I've had my 240 DL for 7 months. I use it every day. It has had no starting problems excepting: once about a month ago it wouldn't start in the morning. Turn over again and again, hints of firing but won't start. I walked away for about 5 minutes, came back and it started fine. Was fine since until 3 days ago. Now it sits in my driveway with the same behavior, there for 3 days not starting this time, after a battery recharge it turns and turns, occassional hints of firing, again, but won't start. The only additional thing I can say really is that it was a very moist morning 1 month ago, and a fairly moist one 3 days ago. The difference between any given day and these no starting times is only in percentage, there have been plenty of moist days.

p.s. I read quite a bit about 1/4 full gas tanks, the in tank fuel device issue, and stalling. I filled the tank, it was at about 1/4, now is at 3/4, still won't start. Thanks for any input!

 

Also.. some of the wiring behind my radio was worked on right around this time, as I was going to install front speakers. The radio worked fine after that until I took it out to work on it. The radio quit working a couple of weeks ago. The car started fine after that for more than a week. Is it possible that the radio and the starting problem are electrical or fuse problems?

 

Check the fuel pump relay under the dash on the passenger side.
Also check the fuel pump.

 

Well, after numerous trials and fails over the past 3 days I went out today and it started fine. This is too unreliable for me to leave as-is. Does this behavior still apply to the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump? Any more suggestions, things to check?

my 240 has the same problem sometimes..especially when tank is around 1/4, i bought the intank pump i just need to put it in...i will let u know how it turns out humid and rainy days are when i have had the most problems as well
