Default 240 firewall mystery holes

Hello,

Wondering if anyone with more experience than me can help identify these holes around my pedal assembly. There is also an unused ball stud on the gas pedal. Is this something factory or sole hackery from a previous owner? It's a 93 240 automatic.

Thank you

Cruise control servo used to be attached there? Ball is for a cable for the cruise control? Do you have an extra switch with both an electric connection and a vacuum connection on the brake pedal? (mounted lower than the brake light switch) Do you have cruise functions on the turn signal switch?

No cruise controls on the stalk, vac or switches. There is an unused bracket in front of the brake pedal, it is also in front of where a clutch would be. This car has definitely been messed with, they added a tach and volt gauge. So maybe they took off the cruise or auto swapped it? 🤷

Yes, that's the bracket for the cruise control cut-off switch on the brake pedal. (and a place for a clutch pedal switch to turn off the cruise also) The car used to have cruise control installed. Perhaps when the turn signal switch broke, the cheaper non-cruise version was installed and the rest of the cruise stuff removed.
