Default 240 ps belt not straight after new ac and ps bushings

I did a t-belt on a 240 yesterday and the ac and ps belts are always a pain, well it takes more time then I'd like, dropping the under cover then having to loosen the bolts on the bottom of ac then going back up to adjust then back down to tighten those bolts back up...........

any way, so I adjust the belts and tighten everything up and the belts are ps in particular is way off. it runs down to the a/c pulley way to the right instead of straight. I put in all new bushing. and it's still like that.

so I didn't have a whole bucnch of time to really look at it. I tried different things, ended leaving the a/c belt on the looser side as well as the ps belt so it didn't move as much.......

My question is has anyone else had this problem (crocked belts with new bushings) and what fixed it.

I guess I'm going to have to really look at another 240 or find an exploded view and make sure everything bushing wise is installed right. and even look up the exact belt deflection volvo wants. I've never had an issue with tightening them just by feel.

I have a fail-safe diagnostic technique. Whenever something is crocked after I worked on it, I go back and double-check my work. 99.9% of the time, I screwed something up in the process.

I just changed my p/s bushings as well with the same outcome. Although mine did perk up a bit with new bushings, still a bit off. still not fixed. It looks like my bracket might have gotten bent a little though, from the, "who knows how long it's been that way" bad bushings.

It turns out 1 of the bushing was facing the wrong direction.
