LED tails
On my 89 245, I used drop in 1157 replacement bulbs from superbrightleds.com The actual page is here http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...rake-turn.html
I bought the 15 led units as anything bigger won't fit through the back of the assembly. Light output is great. In addition, I ganged the top fog lights via jumper wires, to the bottom brake lights, giving me dual brake/taillights on either side. I drilled small holes in the stainless steel socket clips, fed the wires through and soldered them. This avoids the circuit board connections and ensures they stay lit. Because they use less juice and burn cooler than stock lamps, the plastic will not soften and the sockets will never have poor connection. Not that it matters as they are now "hard wired" to the sockets.
