3 Way Radiator Cooler...the Good and the Bad?
I need to replace my radiator in my 1990 Volvo 240 DL. I am thinking about buying the Cryomax 3 way cooler to replace the 2 way stock radiator. Two Questions:
1) Would this put extra work on the water pump since there is more water?
2) Would I see a benefit at stop lights and non moving trafic in the summer? This is when I need the cooling the most. I live in Texas where it peeks about 105 F in the summer.
EDIT: Man, I see that I can get a ready rad radiator at my local store for just $105. The Cryomax would be $275 after shipping. Are Ready Rad radiators any good? Or am I setting myself to be stranded?

Are you talking about a three row, or three core radiator?
If so, it puts no more load on the cooling system at all and increases cooling area in the radiator by 50%. It's a good thing to do.
But I don't think it will solve your overheating problem.

3 core...i was went ahead and ordered a Nissen 2 core heater that is mixed aluminmum and plastic. I was talking to this guy who sales them and he said the more expensive 3 row all metal one is made out of copper and metal which doesn't transmit heat as well as aluminum. He because of that the aluminum Nissen 2 core and the all metal Cryomax 3 core would cool about the same. What's your opinion on it?
All metal 3 core out of a diesel is the radiator to have. Its not 50% more cooling area in a 3 row over a 2 row but there is more. 2 row core should be more than enough for a stock car. And your friend that told you copper doesn't transmit heat as well as aluminum bulled you...
material w/mK
Aluminum 250
Copper 401
Higher number being better.
