Default 740 GL dies then wont restart

Well, my step mom has a 1990 740 GL with a base 2.3 OHC auto. The car a few months back started acting up. It'll run fine once its running, but at certain times once u shut it off, it just wont restart. We've had the car to 2 mechanics that cant figure it out, and the one tried spraying carb/choke cleaner into the intake and it started right up. Anyone know wats goin on?

Have you tried retrieving the codes to see if the ECU is faulting anything? I would start there first.

It MAY be the fuel pump relay (large white square fuse behind the ash tray). When thoes go bad you have to wiggle it untill you hear a click and then the car will start. Thats my guess as i had the same problem, so check that out first. Does the car just crank and crank but not turn over? If it does, then that may be your problem and dont worry its only 25 bucks.
