740 Speedometer

740 Speedometer sometimes works but then goes to 110 mph or stays at zero. When this happens the odometer does not run either. Is this the instrument cluster of the sender?

it could be both, not sure.

have you taken out the speed sensor and inspected it? it migh be dirty, wipe off clean and re-install. or you might want to replace it with another unit.
