looking at possibly buying this, is there a way to look up a complete history of the car? the last owner has only had it for 2 years and is just passing along what he was told. it has an engine that was put in that's estimated at 250k miles on it after there was an apparent problem with the original one..any red flags when looking at the engine...it sounds good. another problem is that it gets floaty when it goes above 65mph...would that be a suspension problem?

 

Well, you can always run a CarFax but that will provide limited info. And, doubtful it will go all the way back to birth. I ran one on my 80 GT....only went back to 90 or so. My best advice is to have it looked at by a shop that has at least a rudimentary grasp of Bosch KJet mechanical fuel injection. The system is bullet proof when maintained...but can be VERY pricey if certain major components need to be replaced. Floating is usually indicative of bad struts/shocks.
