I'll definitely try the temp sensor. Those are cheap anyway so it can't hurt the wallet that much. mass air would only cause it to run crappy wouldn't it? I mean it should still run. this car will get to the point of not running at all.
Cap, rotor adn plugs are good. If it was a cylinder failing I'd think it would still pull itself on 5 cylinders. I will check the injectors anyway just in case I'm wrong. Can't find a fuel pump relay anywhere around here. Those suckers are $50! For a relay! Highway robbery.

Heck I could probably make a relay if I have to. lol (I actually could)

Back to the car. ****SHAZZAM****

OK so I changed out the fi relay. The car will drive farther now but will end up doing the original thing. I did notice that my electric fan is not coming on at all. I jumpered it and it's fine. Maybe my temp sensor is faulty or I have a gremlin.

Go for the sensor! The fact that this problem rears it's ugly head when the engine has time to warm up makes me suspect it.

A car that old, you might have crud in the fuel tank. Have had this happen to me on a couple of old vehicles. What happens is that the crud gets sucked up around the filter sock after a few miles and cuts off the fuel flow. After the car has set awhile, the crud floats back down to the bottom of the tank and the car will run again - for a while..

This is another one of my fears. Not having a lift and not having the money to pay someone to do it makes it a serious challenge.

(for all those "How I Met Your Mother fans"

CHALLENGE EXCEPTED!

Proper grammer these days....
If you are going to criticize me make sure you do it right.
I thought this was a car forum not an english forum anyway.

Anyone else have any ideas? I've changed the temp sensor too. Wish I could take it to the shop...

Oh, "spell check these days..." was at 940's comment. Not meaning to spell check, but rather about how spell check will spell a little too creatively. I never criticize for spelling.

Hmmm.. What do you mean exactly by fluttering? I don't remember exactly everything that your done. Did you check the air filter.

You know what might help. Try to list everything that you've done/checked again in a list. It will be good too see it all in one place. That way we won't miss anything. Try to be complete as possible. It takes a little time, but hopefully we can come up with something to try.

Ah.. My apologies.

fuel filter, fi relay, air filter, Temp sensor, checked fuel pump relay and pumps. Not totally sure on the in tank pump though. Also checked fuses. cleaned mass air (properly)

Fuel pressure regulator started leaking. wonder if that's the culprit?
Is there an aftermarket fpg that I can buy that isn't $85? I just don't want to order this fpg unless I HAVE too. I know I need one but I want a good one for cheap because I'm cheap...

If you know that FPR is leaking, you need to eliminate it as a culprit. They really are pricey for what they are. I found 1 on Rock Auto for 31 dollars, but I have no clue about the quality. On FCP Groton I saw them for around 100 buck.

Yeah I found one from Partsgeek I think. Was in the $30 range. Said it fits my volvo so I bought it. lol Hope the pressure is right. Waiting on the mail man today. Hope it gets here. It's in my state now so that's good. I also think my in tank fuel pump is bad. That's $61 but if it fixes it then I'm selling this thing. Might even be able to get double what I paid for it.

Got the FPR. Installed. Starts right up now but stil has the hesitation after it's warmed up. I think it must be how long it takes for the under body fuel pump starts to starve? I'm going to try to hear it again doing the rubber hose in the filler neck trick but I'm basically at a loss after this.

Yank it from the tank, especially if you cannot hear it running. It still weird that it has problems when running warm. Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Have you cleaned the mass airflow sensor? I'm trying to thing of anything else.
