Default RE: 91 740 turbo Break Light Problem!!!

Ok, did some tinkering today and he is what i got. Checked out the stop light switch under the break pedel and it seems to be working fine, its not stuck or anything and i hear the bulb fail relay click when i use the break. Still no break lights aside from the spoiler. I also have a 86 740GLE thats off the road right now so i took the bulb fail relay out of the 86, because its break lights work fine and i put it into my 91 740 and i got the paassenger side break light to come on, but not the driver side. So im thinking its the relay and maybe since its a relay from an older model it cant handle both sides? And thats why only the passenger side works. But i do remember having problems with the driver side tail light in the past, wiggling wires seemed to help it. So for now i believe i will get a new proper bulb fail relay for my 91 740 and at least ill have the spoiler and the passenger side break light. Any tips guys? I have come to my conclusions without the use of an electric tester.

Default RE: 91 740 turbo Break Light Problem!!!

Ok, sorry for all the posts that add on but my mind is all over the place. Like i said before i used the bulb fail relay out of my older (1986) 740 and put it into my 91 740 and i got the passenger side break light to work, but not the driver side. Now i put the bulb fail relay from the 91 740 into the 86' just to see and i only got the drivers side to work on the 86' 740. Now both bulb fail relays are not exactly the same, the one from 86 is smaller and has one fewer or one more prong then then 91's. Leading me to believe that the relay from my 91' volvo is bad or half bad since it only lights up the driver side when placed into the 86 volvo, and lights up nothing when placed in the 91 volvo. I think this because when i use the older relay out of the 86' i get the passenger side to light up on the 91. Sorry its a lot of jibba jabba but it makes sence. So i am going to get a new bulb fail relay for my 91, and see what happens.
