Default '95 940 handbrake help needed

I think I broke the handbrake cable on my 940 yesterday (handbrake was very loose as if there were nothing connected to it) and today it started to make noise and the lever was stiffer than yesterday. I think the cable might be scraping against the driveshaft or something like that. What do you think it could be and how could I access to the brake cable and where it connects to the lever? ANY help is appreciated.

You should be able to remove the center console and see something. If not climb under the car and take a look.
