Default AC belt question

My A/C no work and I don't intend to fix it. Is it ok/beneficial to remove the belt? Will it cause any other problems? I remember that the AC has something to do with the defogger?

Thanks as always

If the A/C doesn't work it won't help defog/dehumidify.
Take the belt off until you intend to fix it. That'll take a load off the clutch bearing.
