AC System Removal
Ive been removing components of my a/c system. Ive take the compressor out, the accumalator out and the hose between the two out. Since i've taken those out my car now makes a tinny rattling sound on start up and idle. It still runs fine though(I can hit 110mph easy). Any clues as to what is up?

ORIGINAL: vovo racer Im dumb. sorry. where and what is the heat shield? The Heat Shield is a two-piece plate surrounding the exhaust manifold on the B230 engines. It ducts warm air to the air box through a silver/serrated hose that runs along the front of the engine bay. If you remove the (12 or 13? I forget) mm bolts you will see that the heat and vibration will have cracked the metal. Then the vibration of the engine will allow a resonance. I have found that the silver metal hose can also rattle in it's clips. If you are actually racing the car, you don't need the ducting and hose! Cheers |
