Air blows out of all vents, defroster, etc.
Hi,
I recently acquired a Volvo 740 wagon, that is 267,000 miles young. I have been tinkering around with it, and have been able to recharge the A/C with R-134a, and get the compressor going. The problem I still have is that air blows out of all vents, all the time, i.e. defroster, front vents, floor vents - so you never really feel much coming out of anything. I just replaced the ac/heater control with a used unit because the temp lever was broken anyway, but the problem was remained. Vacuum doesn't seem real strong at the hoses going into the heater control, so I checked under the hood and did find a couple of vacuum leaks (fixed the cruise control in the process!), but the problem is still there. Any suggestions where to look. I don't want to tear the whole dash apart if I don't have to, but I will if I do! Thanks!
i just got my hands on a 1988 wagon as a winter car to my mustang saleen. it has 370,000 kms (not sure what that is in miles, but well over the 200k mark).I cant believe how smooth this car drives, mind you aparently this car ahd a new motor put in 60,000 miles ago due to a deal screw up. Anyhow, i love the car and hae been tinkerng aroudn myself. I am in a big city and there are tons of parts around, if you guys need anythign let me know. i got a sunroof motor from a scrapyard and some other stuff.
Remove the glove box on the passenger side. Then look for a vaccum tree under the dash towards the left. You will see the colored hoses going to it.Sometimes they go bad.It also has an electrical connector going to it.
Also, im sure you know but just in case, go easy with the plastic when removing the glove. You dont want to crack anything. We all know how it feels to do that haha. Later
