There isn't air "air tube" on a factory 940 turbo. What part are you talking about?
If you are talking about the 2.5 inch corrogated aluminum tube that funnels warmed air back to the air filter box - it's ok to remove that part, but there is a change of 'icing" in very cold climates with that removed
