Default anybody know?

88 740 turbo: There is an electrical connect (test) plug on a bracket that is held by one of the valve cover bolts near the back of the cover. The 3 wire lead goes to a sending unit in lower block in proximity to the oil filter. I broke the leads to the unit while changing oil and need to know the impact, because I cannot seem to located any Chilton reference, FCP or IPD to either the send unit or the (test?) port. Thanks

It is not needed at all. It's for plugging in the dwell meter when setting CO content. It can be done two other ways and in all my time on these forums I think I've never heard of anyone setting CO. A test LED will do the trick if needed. Plus the equipment I think is probably mostly only found in the bottoms of land fills and the back of shops to be found one day and go to a land fill.

Thanks, Titan Joe. That could have been a Jeopardy - Turbo Brick for a $1000 question.
