Arrow back of the cylinder head...

Ok guys...newb to the Volvo here. Actually I have a b234f???? motor in my boat AQ171C 2.5L with 16v. Problem is I think I was given the head with automotive cams in it. On a boat, on the back of the head there's the distributor running off of the intake cam and a half moon to plug up the hemisphere on the exhaust side. Is it the same for auto or do you use the exhasut side for something? I'm only asking this because BOTH of my cams have slots in the rear and according to the manual, only the intake should....

did i get jipped?

Thanks in advance!

I would suspect intake and exhaust cams are the same. If you can hunt down some cam opening and lift specs you could conform this. If this is teh case, they'd just machine all the cams the same and be done with it.

Regards, Andrew.
