I'm trying to remove the back seat in my 1979 242 GT and for the love of christ I cannot figure it out. I'v looked all over the internet but I can't seem to find anything on the coups. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

 

the old 240 body service manual suggests 2 and 4 door are the same 1976-, and you insert a screw driver between the side of the backrest and the 'metal rod' (not sure), pry screwdriver towards you, and lift the BOTTOM of the backrest forward and up. once the back rest is out, you can remove the cushion.

now my fuzzy memory is telling me, I removed the bottom cushion first, by sharply lifting its back edge til it popped up, but I could easily be confusing cars.
