Default Battery Recommendations

1990 DL 245

I will need a battery soon and it has been years since I have purchased one. Any suggestions either to buy or stay away from?

Thanks

You need a regular lead acid battery. I have heard that the newer glass mat and gel type batteries are not ideal for our cars. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about this will comment.

I've got an Optima yellow top with no problems. The thick base keeps from locking down the battery. It wiggles 1-2mm, nothing big but just a heads up.

I got me a junk yard one for 20 bucks...a year old...just take a harbor freight battery volt tester...you get warranty here don't know were you are.

I've heard Deca? as it was not made by the giant battery manufacturer...?
