Bubbling /boiling sound
This is a 1993 240.
My wife said she heard a boiling/bubbling/ gurglingsoundfrom the interior of the vehicle whenshe turned off the ignition after driving to work. (About a month ago she had Volvo do a cooling flush/ service). We had the car checked at our local mechanic who couldn't reproduce the sound and said the cooling system seemed fine.At first I couldn't hear the sound either, thinking that I was listening for the boiling sound I've heard from engine overheating. I used the car today and heard the sound!
It wasa little morethan faint boiling sound I heard from inside. The temp guage was at it's normal spot and I heard nothing under the hood.
I'm thinking that maybe this sound is coming from the heater core? It's certainly buried underneath a lot of stuff to muffle the sound, and you wouldn't necessarily hear anything from outside under the hood.
Since it's unseasonably warm here today, I'm thinking of running with the heat off on my way home and seeing if I hear the sound again.
Any insight would be apprecited.
Thanks
Ed
