Default console light bulbs

Can anyone provide a generic manufacturers' number for the 12v bulbs found in the console rocker switches? Failing that, the vovlo part number?

30710781, but not generic, it's a Volvo number. And not console, but dash rocker switches bulbs.

What bulbs are you looking for?

Default console light bulbs

Sorry for any confusion. I am looking for the bulbs for the rocker switches. II missed the illustration that you highlighted. So the volvo part number is 989800. Thank you. NOW, are these generic bulbs? I can't believe that volvo had custom bulbs made. Surely they would have used something that was readily available! They certainly look like OSRAM SYLVANIA 2721 (33245) 1.2W 12V WEDGE CLEAR T1 1/2 Incandescents......

Very helpful graphic here. None of the lights in the console of my '92 240 are illuminated. Just bought the car, so I'm concerned whether the bulbs have just all failed after 30 years, or there is some other problem. Will be looking into things in the next couple of weeks. This graphic helps tremendously.

There are only 3 illumination bulbs (not counting the ones in the switches) 1 in the light bar above the rocker switches (not bright!) 1 for the hot/cold lever and 1 for the fan speed. All 3 wired in parallel.

I'm sure there are video tutorials on dismantling the console (I've seen videos on removing the cluster, where I have only one very dim bulb illuminating the speedometer/temp/fuel level). Is it very involved getting to those console bulbs?

2 philips screws on the side, 2 1/4 turn below that, 2 philips screws in the front at the bottom at that's it.

Perfect. You've been very helpful. I'm going to order the bulbs and get to work. Just hope that's the problem (tired, 30yr old bulbs). If not, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
