Default Cruise control pump part number

Anyone know what is the part number for the cruise control pump? Its for a 1991 Volvo 240 with SRS (no ABS), base, 4 speed auto.

Can one from a newer gen Volvo (98-2000 S70 or a 2000-2004 V40) fit?

I found the following part numbers on ebay - 412773 & 1273226. The cover on all though seem to say 003 572 on top. All of these numbers are from newer white block 5 cyl engines.

Advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

So 1273226 comes out of late 90s 70,80 and 90 series. The 412773 comes out of the 2000-2004 40 series.

They both look exactly the same. Does anyone know if I can use either of these in my '91 240? My never came with the vacuum pump. Everything else is intact. Hoses are all fine. The original pumps seems to be extremely expensive whereas I can buy used pumps with the above mentioned part numbers for under $25 used.

Searching for 130903 and 412773 do not yield any results on tasca parts and Volvo OEM parts - but both numbers are used for multiple listings on eBay.

Again, help would be appreciated.

Vadis says a 1991 240 cruise control vacuum booster pump is 1273226.

having never swapped one, I have no idea what might or might not exchange for that.

Volvopartswebstore.com says this PN fits 940, 960, S90, V90. They don't have data linked in their parts catalogs before those cars, but it also suggests it fits B280 engines, which were used in 760's.

Thanks Pierce. I just ordered one (#412773) on eBay for $15. I should be getting it Friday.

The part number you list had 2 sellers higher price and no warranty. I am going to put this in one in and see what it does.

The "oval" cover on the side of the actual PMDC motor on the pump both have the same numbers - but the overall part numbers are the same and they look similar according to the pictures.

Will post back Friday or Saturday with the results. Here's hoping for the best.

Just wanted to post back my results. 412773 works just fine. I also removed the 1390903 part number vacuum pump from my c70. That also worked.

I had the speedo part of the cluster from the 1986 cluster I got from a junkyard. For some reason with that though cruise wouldn't work and it was giving me the speedo signal error code. Swapped back to original speedo unit and everything works just fine.

The 412773 came with rubber plugs instead of the 3 screws to secure it in place. Had to rove those and screwed it back in. The base plate has the same screw hole pattern as the 240.

I suspect that the '86 cluster does not have the pin that provides the ECU with the speed signal. I don't have a wiring diagram for an '86 so I can't confirm. However, in '86, they used the LH2.2 fuel injection system - which may have not used a speed signal. In your '91 you have the LH2.4 fuel injection - which uses the same speed signal as the cruise control.

Gotcha. Any way I can roll ahead this odo to add the 17K miles I put on it (long story short I got lucky with the junk yard odo ('86) and it was only 400 miles off).

That way I can get the odo to represent what it should be now.
