Will my 2.3L engine from a 1986 245DL fit in a 1991 245DL?
Will the existing harness and computer of the 1991 be able to accept/receive all the connections from the donor 1986 engine?
Also, will the donor 1986 engine fit the 1991 automatic transmission?
Txks! Andrew

the 86 is a LH 2.2 fuel injection, while the 91 is LH 2.4. LH2.4 requires a CPS sensor which fits in a notch on the transmission bell housing, and does not have a hall sensor in the distributor, it also uses a different MAF/AMM sensor. I would take all the electrical things, distributor, injectors, etc from the 91 and put them on the 86 engine if you're transplanting it into a 91 car. mechanically, it should bolt right up.

Should I leave the 91 harness and will it agree/accept all the connections from/the the 86 engine? How about the two computers, the one under the hood and the other by the passenger's side; should I leave the ones from the 91 in place or transplant the ones from the 86?
Thanks! Andrew
