I threw my fan on the highway after doing a water pump job,
I shoulda used new studs and nuts on the pump pulley like the directions say.
I used loctite on the new ones.

Same thing happened to me, I threw my fan on the hiway.

The 4 nuts that hold the fan to the water pump are not supposed to be re-used, I did.
2studs in the water pump output shaft sheared off when the fan let go so I installed a new water pump, new studs and ...new nuts with loctite. About $50.

I think those nuts are made from cheddar cheese.
