Default Front bumper trim

I just got a replacement piece of chrome trim that is mounted across the top of the front bumper of a 93 240. Across the front of the car above the bumper is about 6 or 7 clips to hold this piece of trim on. I am having a difficult time getting the piece into those clips. Is it advisable to remove the clips and attach them to the trim and then back on the car or should the clips stay where they are?

Nah, you want to leave the clips in place. If you remove them they're no good and you'll need new ones. Do you have the old trim to compare w/ the new one? I've had to occasionally gently open up the clips just a tiny bit. It is tedious under the best of circumstances...
