Default fuel pump.

ok! i am new to the volvo world. i have been a chevy man all my life. i just bought a 1984 240 wagon. i have always liked this car. well, i bought it from a freind, 2 nights ago. i drove it home, parked it. went out to take the wife for a ride, and it would not start. i pulled the hose off the t-body and shot some carb cleaner in it, and it cranked, then died. it had about a 1/4 of a tank left. so i put 8 gallons of fuel in. cleaned the fuses, and the f-pump relay. is there a common problem i don't know about.

thanks

Default fuel pump.

Does the fuel pump prime when you bump the key? You can try jumping the relay for the fuel pump. They are behind the glove compartment. There are 2 of them. You want to jump terminals 30 to 86 I believe
