Default Got another one............

LOL! I bought another Volvo ~ an '83 245 wagon 5 speed

Out of all the Volvo's I've owned, I liked my other old 240 the best. I needed a back up vehicle, knew what I wanted and luckily found it the same day I started searching

I'm going to do a beach theme Woody Wagon with a surfboard on top

opinion:
  1. Fake woodies look fake
  2. Lowered 240s look silly
  3. low profile wheels on 1980s cars look and ride badly

p.s. if the surfboard stuck out that far in back, you'd be binging the end of your board when you try and open the tailgate.

Geez, sorry I asked. That's not my car, just a near color and year to play around using paint to try ideas. I know it's not proportionate, it was only a quick rendering.

Everyone has an opinion and you know what they say about them........

Congrats on your find! I say do what you want with the car and don't give a rat's shoulder about what anyone thinks. Make it your own and enjoy it, you're the one paying for it.

But regarding Pierce's points - low profile tires (and lowered/stiffer springs) do make any car ride harsher, not just '80's cars. Even career criminals can't avoid the laws o' physics. My sister's new Jetta wagon with aftermarket 18's and 35 series tires rides worse than my 26 damn year old Toyota wagon. As per American Female Superiority Rules (AFSR) she will never admit to this. Cheers.
