My 240DL, which I bought off the showroom floor in 1988, has developed an odd quirk. When I turn on the headlights, the brake ligts activate (as if I was stepping on the brake pedal).

I replaced the infernal semiconductor sheet, the lanps, and the brake pedal switch, nothing has worked yet. Is it possible for the headlight switch (or the ignition switch) to activate the brake lights?
