Hi everyone,

Just yesterday my wife's 240 DL acted up and is confounding us. I put in an aftermarket radio and bypassed the amp (took the amp out completely) and the radio works fine.

the challenge is that the headlights now will not go off. I have to disconnect the battery to ensure that it doesn't drain overnight. The car is chugging and groaning as it drives and the lights are so dim when we're actually driving that we can't even tell if they're on.

I read in an earlier post/thread that the yellow and the white wires behind the radio needed to be connected together, but no details on what those wires go to.

Then, there's the issue of the OD relay burning out regularly. An intermittent problem there with the OD indicator lighting up and not being able to turn that off either.

Another thread mentioned something about proper grounding.

It's just all too confusing - I don't know where to start.
