have a 740 wagon with a b-230f engine non turbo. love my volvo, however, the engine has a skip, hesitation, and bog down on excelleration that i cannot sovle.

in the last six months recent part replacements include spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, regina coil, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter.

after replaceing the fuel pressure regulator recently, the engine ran fine for a short trip, then hard to start and now worse performance.

I am stumped. Please help.

 

In- tank "feed" fuel pump is a likely cause. See if it's working. If not, replace it, or the more expensive "main" pump will be next.

 

"inside feed pump". you mean the pump in the gas tank?
