Hi, I am a new user. I just purchased a 1979 Volvo 242 DL. It was missing the rear trim. I ordered the parts on Ebay. However, I was wondering how you secured the two prong trim into the existing holes on the rear trunk. This may be a rudimentary question and I apologize in advance. Thanks for any answers.

 

on the mid 80s 240s, the trim is held in place with these plastic clip things that have an expansion pin that fits in the hole. you place the clips in the holes, then you snap the trim onto the clips. taking it off usually breaks 1 or more of the clips so its best to have a full set of replacement clips on hand. I'm not 100% sure the 70s models were the same.
